Max Paul von Bleichert, Zurich (by 1929; Bleichert (Leipzig 1877-1938 Zurich) and his brother managed Adolf Bleichert & Co., until the 1920s one of the world's largest cable car manufacturers. He also amassed a large collection of art including works by Carl Spitzweg, Wilhlem Leibl, Hans Thoma, Franz von Stuck, Max Liebermann, among others); thence by descent to the present owner
